If you want, arrange to meet the owner before the first booking. It is optional and you choose it in your profile. The dog's and home's details stay in your account.

A year after your profile went live, with 10 services or more.
- They update every day. If they stop being true, they leave the profile.
- Each needs a minimum number of services, so it does not rest on one or two.
- They do not change the order of results. Your dashboard shows what is missing for each.
Credits
How credits work
There is no monthly fee. You top up credits when you like and only use them when you accept a new client, once per client: later bookings with the same client cost nothing.

Packs from €10. Larger ones come with extra credits, and credits you buy never expire.
- Accept a new client
You see the whole request and can ask the owner 1 question, at no cost. When you accept, you pay the credits and see the contact details.
- You pay only when you accept, and you know the price first
€2 to €6 per new client, depending on the service. After that, this client never costs anything again.
Fee per new client
You pay once per client, on the first booking. The amount depends on that booking:
- One-off requestThe first booking is a walk, a visit or a few days of service.2 credits
- StayThe first booking is nights at the owner's home or boarding at yours.4 credits
- Regular walksThe first booking has 6 or more walks or visits, spread over at least 14 days (for example, three a week for a month).6 credits
- Later bookings with the same clientYou have already paid the fee for this client: nothing more to pay for them.0 credits
1 credit costs about €1.

You do not need professional experience. You need to love dogs, enjoy walking and be reliable.

- Experience with dogs: your own, family's, friends' or professional
- A phone with a camera and GPS, for check-ins, the route and photos
- Punctuality: walks and visits have a set time
- Portuguese or English to talk to owners
- For boarding: a safe, escape-proof home for the guest dogs
Frequently asked questions
How much do I pay dogwalking.pt?
A fee in credits when you accept a new client, and only then. Later bookings with the same client cost nothing. You buy credits in your account, by MB WAY or Multibanco.
Can I choose which requests to take?
Yes. By default you confirm every request (or only the first from each client). You can also turn on instant booking for clients you already know.
What if I cannot make a walk?
Cancel it in your account and tell the owner. Block holidays and days off in your calendar so you get no requests on those days.
Do I need insurance or to be registered as self-employed?
You work for yourself: the income is yours and you declare it. In Portugal, anyone who provides services regularly registers as self-employed with the tax office (recibos verdes); for a one-off job there is the "ato isolado".
If in doubt, ask the tax office or an accountant. Public liability insurance is recommended for anyone who walks dogs, and we can point you to some.
How long does approval take?
Usually 2 working days: we read the application and check the profile is complete. No interviews. Once approved, you get an email to set your password; then, from your account, you can send a short video introduction and an ID document for the "Identity confirmed" badge.
Can I look after my current clients here?
Yes: send them your invite link, which opens your profile already filled in. They book, pay you as always and get the reports, the routes and the dog's diary.
What are open requests?
Owners who have not chosen a walker yet describe what they need, and walkers in the area who offer that service are told. Replying costs 2 credits and only 3 can reply to each request. If the owner chooses you, the credits come back.
