Do the walkers work for dogwalking.pt?

No. Each walker is an independent professional who works for themselves:

  • they set their services, prices, hours and areas;
  • they choose which requests to take;
  • they provide the service and answer for it.

dogwalking.pt puts you in touch, reviews every application before the profile goes live and provides the tools to book, message and follow every walk. The agreement and the payment are between you and the walker.

How much does it cost?

Each walker sets their own prices per walk, per visit, per night or per boarding night, plus a price per extra dog. You see the total before you book. dogwalking.pt charges owners nothing.

How do I pay?

Directly to the walker, however you agree: MB WAY, bank transfer, cash or the walker's own "Pay now" button, if they have one. dogwalking.pt never receives that money.

Can I meet the walker first?

It depends on the walker. Some offer a free first meeting at your home before the first booking: they meet your dog, see where the lead and everything else are kept and you arrange the keys. Each walker's profile says whether they offer one. Either way, once the walker accepts, you agree everything through messages.

What do I get after each walk?

A report: the route on a map and how long it took, toilet breaks, water, food and medication if any, a note and up to 3 photos. It arrives by email and stays in your account, in each dog's diary.

What if the walker does not show up?

Every walk and every visit has a check-in. If nothing is recorded half an hour after the planned time, the walker gets an automatic reminder; two hours later, the owner is told and has the walker's contact. You are never left in the dark.

Can I cancel?

Yes, in your account, walk by walk or the whole booking. After the walker's cancellation window (shown on their profile and the booking; if they did not choose one, 24 hours), the service is still owed. A request the walker does not answer expires by itself after 24 hours.
