How much does a dog walker cost in Portugal?
Prices for solo and group walks, home visits, nights and boarding from dogwalking.pt profiles, what makes them vary, and what a month of walks comes to.
The prices on the profiles
Each walker sets their own. On every area page you see the lowest and highest price of the walkers working there, service by service. As a reference, service platforms in Portugal give average prices of €8 to €13 per walk, with nearly all prices between €5 and €20.
A 60-minute walk costs more than a 30-minute one, and a place on a group walk usually costs less than a solo walk. Overnight stays and boarding are charged per night and vary more: see the profiles in your area.
What makes them vary
- Length: 30 or 60 minutes, and solo or group.
- Experience and reviews: walkers with years of walks and many reviews charge more, and fill up first.
- Special care: medication and injections may carry a different price.
- Area: within Lisbon prices are similar; outside, in areas with fewer walkers, they may be higher because of travel.
- Season: there are no high-season prices on dogwalking.pt. What changes is availability.
A month of walks, in practice
These figures are only an example: each walker sets their own prices, shown on their profile. One 30-minute solo walk every weekday at €9: about 22 walks, €198 a month. Three group walks a week at €7 per dog: about 13 walks, €91 a month. A week's holiday with two walks a day at €9: €126.
What you do not pay
dogwalking.pt charges owners nothing: the walker pays dogwalking.pt, once for each new client. You pay the walker directly for the service, as you agree. When the walker offers a first meeting, that meeting is free.

Is there a discount for weekly walks?
Some walkers give one. Ask them through the messages before booking; the profile price is what is recorded on the booking.
Do I have to tip?
No. A review, after three walks, is worth more to the walker.
